Our Family:
- Hello, I am looking for someone who is available for around 32 hours a week. Ideally the times below but there is some room to modify (Saturday to Tuesday afternoon and start time on Thursday). I would also consider a min of 3 days a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday)
Monday: 2-6 Wednesday 2-6 Thursday 9-6 Friday 9-6 Saturday 8-1 I have twin 4.5 yr old girls and a 6.5 yr old son.
My son would say he'd want someone who follows his typical routine, loves listening to minecraft talk and will play board games with him.
They are all very confident and determined personalities which means when they love each other it is beautiful to see and when they don't they make sure it is known.
My son is in grade one so he is home after 3pm each day. He generally gravitates towards mum or stays in his room so it's mostly the girls that need the care.The girls:
1 is home all day Thursday and Friday. The other all day Friday. We attend a range of appointments for early intervention supports.
They are all still very much typical kids but they do tend to feel emotions both positive and negative very intensely.
One twin has cerebral palsy however does not require additional care, she just lacks typical strength and coordination but won't let that stop her.
My son has austim but also has a very high IQ, which means if you keep his brain active and busy, engage him in something he loves or follow his routine all goes relatively well, for a grade 1 kid anyway.
Your Duties:
- Support with school pick ups
- Organise fun activities for children
- Willingness to play with children not just watch them play
- Light house duties (tidying, cleaning up kitchen, putting away kids clothes/toys)
- Attendance at children appointments/ activities.
- Support with structured home learning tasks.
Our Perfect Caregiver:
- I will mostly be home as well. However please know we have had carers for 4 years now and I know how to ensure I will not step on your toes, but allow you to fulfil your role as required. This is because more often than not the role is for the care of the only 12 children while I am occupied with the third or work. Personality type
- Calm patience when interacting with kids.
- Ability to think of creative ways to get kids to follow expectations.
- Ability to manage love/hate interactions between siblings.
- Ability to set and follow predictable routines and expectations. There is opportunity for increased hours over school holidays, Rate depending on qualifications is between $38$42 an hour plus super and will be paid through an accountant.
