The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our Analytical Chemistry team at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility as a
Chemistry Analyst.

As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.

In this essential role you will be responsible for the collection, preparation and testing of process control samples.

Working in a collaborative team environment, you will contribute to the delivery of excellent customer service by completing analyses, providing high quality samples, results and resolving instrumental issues.

Join our team on a
24-month Fixed term contract. This role is located in
Port Kembla, NSW, and works Monday to Friday dayshift.

What Will You Do?
You will actively participate in providing continuous improvement of services provided by the Laboratory, and will be responsible for:

• ensuring sampling is of high quality to ensure accuracy of results

- conducting routine inspections and maintenance on equipment required for sampling, sample preparation and analysis and take any necessary corrective actions
- preparing solutions and standards required for both sampling and chemical analysis
- conducting both routine and non-routine chemical analysis using a variety of analytical techniques
- proactively identify opportunities to improve and streamline our procedures or testing

More About You
With your continuous strive for quality, you will combine your high attention to detail, and your ability to analyse and interpret technical data

You will also bring:
- a certificate or diploma in Science, Chemistry or related discipline
OR experience working in a similar environment
- a demonstrated proficiency in the use of data reviewing software and equipment
- a sense of urgency when prioritising tasks to meet production requirements
- the ability to present and communicate your technical results and participate in debate with your peers
