Coke Plant 2 team at our
Port Kembla Manufacturing facility as a
Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.


In this specialised leadership role, you will lead a multi-skilled Mechanical team focusing on the delivery of Mechanical Maintenance requirements for the No.2 Coke Plant department while ensuring you champion a safety-first culture.

To ensure operational productivity and asset preservation targets are achieved, you'll provide technical expertise on challenges with our equipment and manage the team's success through their performance and productivity to ensure our business plan objectives and targets are continually met.


What Will You Do?


Reporting to the Asset Manager, you will lead and mentor a high performing team in a dynamic and exciting manufacturing environment.


In doing so, you will:
- manage team members in the areas of performance, timekeeping, leave, training and personal development
- management of plant maintenance activities, including planning, organising, execution and review of maintenance for upcoming shutdowns
- manage large scale industrial capital projects with the assistance of your team
- ensure safety standards are adhered to, making suitable changes when risks and opportunities are identified
- manage maintenance costs
- supervise maintenance activities and strive for business improvements and manufacturing excellence
- establish a culture of continuous improvement to eliminate waste and improve team performance

You will bring:
- trade qualifications or degree qualifications in Mechanical Engineering
- experience in a heavy industrial environment with reviewing and developing of maintenance plans
- experience in large scale industrial project management
- proven experience in a leadership role
- an ability to translate business objectives to clear actions and outcomes for your team
- ability to coach and develop others to enhance capability
- a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and others
