Responsibilities:

Financial Data Management:

  • Assist in maintaining accurate and uptodate financial records for clients using XERO accounting software.
  • Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable duties, including recording transactions, reconciling statements, and issuing invoices and payments.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

Xero Expertise:

  • Utilise Xero accounting software to perform daytoday bookkeeping tasks.
  • Manage Xero accounts, including data entry, reconciliations, and report generation.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Assist in maintaining the filing system for financial documents and ensuring proper documentation and archiving.
  • Support the senior bookkeepers in ad hoc financial analysis and reporting tasks as required.

Compliance and Record keeping:

  • Ensure compliance with Xero best practices and keep uptodate with new features and updates.
  • Maintain organized and uptodate financial records, both in physical and digital formats.
  • Stay up to date with industry best practices and changes in relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Lodgements
  • Assist with IAS, BAS Super preparation and lodgements.

General Administrative Support:

  • Collaborate with the bookkeeping team to ensure timely completion of tasks and maintain effective communication.
  • Assist with payroll processing and ensure accurate recording of employee timesheets, leave balances, and superannuation.
  • Assist with general administrative tasks related to bookkeeping, such as filing, data entry, and documentation.
  • Provide support to the finance team and other departments as needed.
  • Participate in team meetings, share expertise, and contribute to process improvements.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience or education in bookkeeping or accounting is preferred.
  • Experience in using XERO accounting software is essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial recordkeeping.
  • Good understanding of basic accounting principles and concepts.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with team members and clients.
  • Basic knowledge of Australian tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced environment.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality.

Job Types:
Part-time, Permanent

Part-time hours: 5 per week

Salary:
$23.00 per hour
