Responsibilities:
Financial Data Management:
- Assist in maintaining accurate and uptodate financial records for clients using XERO accounting software.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable duties, including recording transactions, reconciling statements, and issuing invoices and payments.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
- Assist in preparing financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Xero Expertise:
- Utilise Xero accounting software to perform daytoday bookkeeping tasks.
- Manage Xero accounts, including data entry, reconciliations, and report generation.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Assist in maintaining the filing system for financial documents and ensuring proper documentation and archiving.
- Support the senior bookkeepers in ad hoc financial analysis and reporting tasks as required.
Compliance and Record keeping:
- Ensure compliance with Xero best practices and keep uptodate with new features and updates.
- Maintain organized and uptodate financial records, both in physical and digital formats.
- Stay up to date with industry best practices and changes in relevant legislation and regulations.
- Lodgements
- Assist with IAS, BAS Super preparation and lodgements.
General Administrative Support:
- Collaborate with the bookkeeping team to ensure timely completion of tasks and maintain effective communication.
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure accurate recording of employee timesheets, leave balances, and superannuation.
- Assist with general administrative tasks related to bookkeeping, such as filing, data entry, and documentation.
- Provide support to the finance team and other departments as needed.
- Participate in team meetings, share expertise, and contribute to process improvements.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience or education in bookkeeping or accounting is preferred.
- Experience in using XERO accounting software is essential.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial recordkeeping.
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles and concepts.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with team members and clients.
- Basic knowledge of Australian tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced environment.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality.
