CHC has an opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Manager to join us in our Perth Head Office.

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the provision of leadership and direction to the Senior Base Engineers and for the management of maintenance standards.

The Maintenance Manager, EMS/SAR role reports directly to the AU Maintenance Manager, Part 145 Post Holder.

  • Ensure that standard and presentation of aircraft is of the highest possible standard.
  • Monitor and report all technical delay and reports for accuracy and implement the required action plan.
  • Maintain oversite of effective duty rosters in line with the current staff agreements.
  • Direct responsibility for the administration and control of staff within their area of responsibility
  • Review of monthly overtime worked and completion of a report to the AU Maintenance Manager which identifies over time worked by Base, reason, time lost to base against roster able hours available for staffing numbers
  • Make recommendations for training, which would improve efficiency or depth and strength of skills and maintain records of training.
  • Ensuring that all delegated audit nonconformances receive appropriate corrective action in a timely manner and review delegated CPA's as they are published to ensure any immediate AMO action required is implemented in conjunction with CAMO and S&Q.
  • Ensure Toolbox meetings take place with maintenance staff to discuss issues pertaining to the business e.g. Safety Alerts, Accident Prevention Notices, Service Bulletins, Airworthiness notices, company communications.
  • Ensure prompt incorporation of amendments to aircraft publications under their control i.e. Synchronization of Base offline library computers.
  • Ensure daily walk around of hangars and facilities are carried out, identify and report hazards to ensure compliance with CASA, CHC SMS and company procedures and ensure cleanliness and tidiness of work areas are being met.
  • Ensure Monthly Bow Tie field focused inspections are carried out, completed on a monthly basis, all reports are entered into SQID and any appropriate actions are raised as the result of any finding.

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:

Quals, Skills & Attributes.

  • Engineering degree qualified (Rotary Wing) or CASA Part 66 Licence equivalent practical experience in required field, essential.
  • Minimum two years proven experience within the Aviation industry, primarily in Rotary Wing.
  • Strong Managerial experience, with the ability to build robust relationships.
  • Analytical thinker with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn technical and detailed procedures as required for this function.
  • Well organized and detailoriented team player
  • Excellent verbal & Written communication skills
  • Experience with AMOS system preferred
