We currently have a new/exciting/unique opportunity as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical within Aircraft, Training and Sustainment (Lead - in - Fighter) based in Pearce, Western Australia.

Your new role:


Reporting to the Responsible Manager, the Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) - Mechanical will be responsible for performing scheduled inspections, fault diagnosis, repair and modification to aircraft and aeronautical product in Aviation Environment.


As the ideal applicant, you will be:

  • Responsible for hydraulic, environment, pneumatic and propulsion system, related system components at a standard to comply with all regulatory and airworthiness requirements,
  • Carrying out work in a safe, timely and cost effective manner meeting all the highest quality standards as per the Quality system,
  • Ensure all maintenance and technical documentation or data used during maintenance is authorized and complies with the requirements of the business maintenance management plan, BAE Systems procedures and governing regulations
  • Precisely record details of work on documentation and if required to gain certification of the work carried out in the required timeframe,
  • Ensure that all appropriate documentation for engineering advice, defect reporting and publication amendments are incorporated as directed
  • Report to the relevant leader all defects, deficiencies, maintenance errors and unserviceability as they arise,
  • Carry out maintenance only as delegated and directed
  • Perform other aviation support tasks as directed by team leader or support leader
  • Drive excellence through the team by setting high standards, leading by example and creating a positive climate and culture

About you:

As an applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:

  • Completed a Cert IV Aeroskills
  • Mechanical Currently holding or in the process of attaining a DASA 66 B1 license (desirable)
  • DASA 66 C license (highly desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role, within a workshop, hangar or flight line environment
  • Have an understanding of DASR 145 maintenance regulations and procedures
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills,
  • Have the ability to work within a strong team environment,
  • Have a demonstrated commitment to safety,
  • Have the flexibility and willingness to carry out your duties in remote locations, supporting the Australian Defence Force when required.
  • Ability to work under pressure, occasionally outside normal working hours within an aircraft maintenance environment.
  • Proven commitment to aircraft maintenance Safety, Quality and continuous improvement initiatives.


Whilst not essential, previous experience in supporting fast jet aircraft platform will be highly regarded, as will previous exposure to Defence Aircraft Maintenance environments such as the RAAF and/or RAF.

Clearances:


As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.

A White Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) is desirable for this role, alternative all applicants to be eligible to obtain ASIC Care.

International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
