The Nathan River Resources mine site is located 50km inland from the Gulf of Carpentaria and approximately 760km from Darwin. We are the proud owner and operator of the Roper Bar Iron Ore Mine, with an in-house mine, marine, and trans-shipment division managing a fleet of assets dedicated to our operations.

We are now looking for a Senior Geologist to join us due to the success of our initial operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and managing the site geology function, overseeing a team of pit technicians and samplers.
  • Managing data and material flow from pit to port.
  • Providing instructions, plans, and technical advice to Mining/Crushing/Road Haulage operations teams.
  • Communicating with other Mine Tech Services team members.
  • Identifying, developing, and implementing strategies to enhance resource understanding.
  • Sharing geological information with Mine Tech Services and Ops teams for planning.
  • Completing other necessary tasks.

FIFO Roster Ex Darwin is 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Degree in Geology or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in Open Pit Mining, preferably Iron ore.
  • Ability to lead and supervise operational staff effectively.
  • Proven track record in project planning, scheduling, and reporting under pressure.
