Who we are

Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) owns, operates and invests in infrastructure which delivers gas to more than two million homes and businesses, and is one of the largest gas infrastructure businesses in Australia. About the Opportunity

The Graduate System Operations Engineer role will primarily support the Engineering and Standards team in the day-to-day operations of the gas network. This role will work closely with our Team Leader – System Operations ensuring Multinet Gas Network's (MGN) pipelines and distribution systems are designed, operated and maintained in a safe and efficient manner. You'll learn from experienced professionals and be provided with continual training and support to help guide you towards your future career goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Engineering & Standards Group in implementing the long-term strategies to maintain MGN's assets
  • Undertaking specific engineering tasks under direction of the Team Leader – System Operations
  • Monitoring and assessing the performance of gas network plant and equipment
  • Supporting the development of Asset Management Asset Lifecycle Strategies and Plans, as well as review and management of asset maintenance plans and work packages.
  • Developing technical and engineering manuals and standards for gas assets.
  • Investigating and assessing new materials, equipment and services
  • Providing technical assistance and support regarding asset replacement projects, and engineering functions

About You

  • Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical) in a relevant field
  • Ability to problem solve, and think strategically

  • Able to interpret requirements and translate into actionable plans

  • Demonstrated analytical thinking
  • Able to lead by example in behaviour and values
  • Experience working within utilities (Desirable)
