About the role

We are currently recruiting a Data Governance Lead to join our team on a 12 month fixed term contract.

As Data Governance lead, you will drive the development, implementation, and maintenance of a brand-new data governance strategy roadmap and program, to ensure the accuracy, completeness, security and consistency of our organisation's data.


This role will involve significant stakeholder engagement, defining requirements, programme managing the implementation of state-of-the-art data governance solutions, and promoting a high performing and collaborative environment.


You will lead and deliver a new data quality framework and implement data quality, security and privacy tools to automate data governance activities across the enterprise.

About you


To succeed in this role, you will have significant experience in leading teams and complex programmes of work in data governance, including quality, security and privacy, demonstrating strong familiarity with the latest technologies and tools.


You will be able to show evidence of tangible business benefits, improvement initiatives and outcomes that your work has delivered, such as significant financial impact/savings, large scale automation resulting in substantial time/cost savings in line with improving companies' data quality, security and privacy standards.


Key is that you are comfortable in demonstrating experience of building relationships and being able to scope, build and deliver data governance products, policies, frameworks and plans and that you then implement these working across the organisation with data owners and champions.

You are comfortable communicating, presenting, training/upskilling and continuously improving, able to translate complexity into user-friendly reporting.


This is very much a hands on data governance role where you will be independently leading a new and complex programme for this international mining company, with clear KPIs and incentive based on performance within a supportive, structured team.

You must have experience in Microsoft Purview and other tools.
