About the role


Joining our pivotal Finance Division, a team of 60+ nationally, this critical role, supported by sophisticated technology using Dashboards, will assist Senior Management in the areas of commercial pricing, Requests for Pricing (RFP) and Legal Panel tender responses, financial analysis, and management reporting.


Reporting to the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), this role works closely with the Business Development (BDM) and Client Relationship Management (CRM) teams, Client Relationship Partners, and the broader Finance team _(Business Intelligence, Legal Project Management, Financial Accounting and Matter Accounting),_ Management and Shared Services.


You will be mentored and developed to enable you to provide business insights to lift business performance and continuously improve processes, reporting and procedures as the business evolves.

This is a varied role that offers exposure and experience hard to find anywhere else

With a balanced approach to WFH, key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing pricing support and commercial advice to Partners, Business Development & Marketing division and CRM Management teams
  • Development of pricing scenarios and profitability models
  • Proactively managing 'Strategic client portfolio rate renewals, RFPs and Legal Panel pricing requests
  • Designing pricing and commercial strategies to deliver best possible financial outcomes
  • Management of the annual Rate card review process including industry and economic analysis
  • Compliance with, and communication of, the Firm's Pricing Policy and updating as required
  • Analyse profit drivers of large and/or major matters and work alongside the FP&A team to provide insights to improve profitability
  • Assist with the preparation of timely and accurate regular management reports, client profitability reports and partner performance reports developing them over time to include insights and commentary.
  • Continuous improvement of the FP&A reporting processes
  • Developing financial models and providing analysis for various projects within the business.

CA or CPA qualified with solid commercial experience in analytical, reporting and pricing roles, to set you up for success, you will also bring:

  • Management accounting experience in a professional services firm or Top 100 ASX company, or similar disciplined environment
  • High level of attention to detail, analytical and conceptual skills
  • Outstanding presentation, reporting and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Experience using dashboard and query analysis tools for analysis and reporting (e.g. Power BI) with an understanding of datasets and databases will be looked on favourably
