About the role


As part of the Communication Teams commitment to excellence, the Editor will meticulously sub-edit all stories submitted for publication and carefully proofread all copy in draft layout.

This attention to detail guarantees that our materials are error-free and of the highest quality.


Maintaining robust quality control procedures, and record keeping procedures, is essential to this role as you navigate a complex approval process to ensure that publications meet the highest standards.

In summary, our Editor plays a vital role in providing journalistic support and guidance for Technology Command publications.

We are committed to delivering high-quality, engaging, and error-free materials that effectively communicate the objectives and operational requirements of Technology Command.


Essential requirements:

  • Obtain and maintain the requisite security clearances for this position.
  • Tertiary level qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent industry experience.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Highly developed skills as a journalist or assistant editor in a fast-paced news or PR/publications environment, and/or relevant qualifications.
  • High level proof reading skills with an eye for detail, ability to meet deadlines and excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Windows and 365 environments.
  • Proven experience using PC software relating to print, and online publication.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • Experience in working within in a high volumeenvironment with competing priorities, agreed standards and tight timeframes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
