About the role:


This a fantastic opportunity for an Endpoint Administrator who enjoys contact with the community and internal support staff working with a dynamic team to provide customer-focused and efficient Endpoint technical support for Council management and staff.

The role also involves configure and manage Council's fleet of end-user devices which includes PCs, laptops, tablets, phones, and other networked devices.

The position tests, installs and deploys various operating systems using industry standard tools, while maintaining an appropriate balance between security and usability.

The position also acts as a first point of escalation for any issues relating to the IT Service Desk.

Skills and experience require to perform the role:

  • Administer Council's fleet of end-user devices to ensure systems run securely and efficiently.
  • Research and recommend new enduser devices to meet security and business requirements.
  • Ensure Council's fleet of enduser devices meet minimum security and business requirement standards, and proactively administer the lifecycle replacement process.
  • Manage Council's Desktop SOE (Standard Operating Environment).
  • Develop and recommend security policies for approval by the Unit Manager ICT Infrastructure and Services.
  • Respond to security issues and audit findings on a timely basis.
  • Administer antivirus, antimalware and vulnerability assessment tools and remediate security issues in a timely manner.
  • Adopt a continuous improvement mindset and strive for best practice cyber security configuration by researching solutions and consulting with industry bodies.
  • Comply with and assist with the update of Council's Cyber Security Framework, Cyber Security Policy and IT Standards.
  • Provide support, documentation and mentoring for frontline Service Desk Officers.
  • Recommend and implement changes maintaining appropriate documentation.
  • Ensure requests from senior management and Councillors are prioritised in consultation with the Unit Manager ICT Infrastructure and Services.
  • Resolve incident and requests in the IT Service Management platform within agreed service levels.
  • Some afterhours support is required.
  • Use continuous improvement principles (e.g. ITIL) to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processes and services.
