Your new role

Your new role will see you reporting to the Operations 2IC, working 6am - 2.30pm Monday to Friday, with some Saturdays as necessary. The Maintenance of the entire tanker site will ultimately be your responsibility, which you will be enthused to assess and redefine where required.

Your typical daily tasks will see you;

  • See to all preventative maintenance on the entire site in a scheduled, efficient manner - whether that be calling outsourced specialists, driving to pick up parts, upgrades and more;
  • Adhere to an assessment on current suppliers across cost, efficiency and potential to be adhered to inhouse more effectively;
  • Onsite technical support for the management team, employees and other stakeholders
  • Reactive maintenance across a wide, diverse array of equipment inclusive but not limited to - hydraulics, pneumatics, centrifugal pumps, compressors, welders, brake press equipment, guillotines, crane, hoists, spray booth equipment and much more (outsourcing specialist services where needed);
  • Safety conscientiousness is paramount to this role and being able to navigate a sizeable production facility having safe equipment, tools, overhead equipment and an eye for a clean work site as a non-negotiable;
  • Building maintenance for the facility will be your responsibility to oversee & ensure operating well, from lights, to spray booths, all facilities;
  • Be the go to for direct onsite technical support, along with liaising with external maintenance specialists;
  • Ability to communicate well, relationship driven, and lead the maintenance division with an eye on process improvement, maintenance budgets consistently reviewed, and eliminate bottlenecks on production / lost time; and
  • Relevant reporting and in depth documentation, allowing for clear oversite of current maintenance practices.

What you need to succeed

  • Proven experience working in a Maintenance Manager role overseeing all things from building / facilities, production equipment and all encompassing on site;
  • Strong mechanical background is essential - to allow for the ability to instantaneously be hands adhering to maintenance onsite of all mechanical equipment;
  • Engineering related qualifications (strong mechanical) / Maintenance Fitter trade with RC / DC licence highly desirable;
  • Have worked in a site based capacity previously in an industrial production facility, working on similar types on maintenance;
  • Ability to commence work at 6am sharp daily, and committed to Saturday work when necessary for equipment overhauls;
  • Strong interpersonal skills to enhance safe practices onsite regarding upskilling employees, and communicating initiatives to management where necessary;
  • Proven background working across a very wide variety of facility and equipment maintenance / resourceful to learn equipment you haven't worked across;
  • Be highly organized and have the ability to work across varied systems to report on diagnostics, and overall maintenance findings; and
  • Committed to drive a well maintenance budget on maintenance upon review of current and existing suppliers;
  • Ability to work well under pressure, manage changing priorities & ability to work occasional overtime where needed.
