As an Operations Manager within Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ), you will be part of an efficient flexible and responsive team that strives for safer workplaces.


Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead a team of Inspectors in a regulator environment
  • Identify and enforce breaches of legislation
  • Produce and review briefs of evidence
  • Educate a very board range of industry sectors to ensure they are compliant with Work Health and Safety legislation
  • Work autonomously and be part of a high functioning team
  • Be adaptable and lead significant workplace change
The position can be based in either Toowoomba or Ipswich with responsibility to manage staff from these 2 offices.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills, including the ability to deal with and diffuse conflict and liaise with the community around sensitive matters
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and lead others


This role will challenge and develop your ability to engage with stakeholders, lead others, partner and educate the community in safety matters and ensure compliance within a regulatory framework.
