Victoria University (VU) Polytechnic is the TAFE division of Victoria University and delivers accredited courses, apprenticeships, traineeships, and customised training programs that link closely with industry.

Our Hospitality, Tourism & Events courses are delivered in a modern, purpose built, specialty facility at the Footscray Nicholson st campus.

About the Role:

VU Polytechnic has a vacant full-time role of TAFE Teacher in the Hospitality Tourism & Events (specialising in commercial cookery and patisserie) department to be filled on a fixed term basis until December 2024.

Your work will involve developing learning resources for our commercial cookery course, as well as training and assessing students, and maintaining accurate records at our Footscray Nicholson st campus.

This role is a great opportunity to transfer the knowledge you have gained through your years of practical experience to the next generation of Victoria University Polytechnic students.

About You:

- hold a trade certificate as a cook or chef, or equivalent
- a TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or TAE40110 with required upskill units TAEASS502 and TAELLN411 or TAELLN401A

• Ideally you will have at least 5 to 8 years of industry experience, enabling you to successfully teach into our Commercial Cookery and Patisserie courses
• Your great communication skills will be a key asset to use daily to teach our students and you will need to have a willingness to continually learn and develop as a professional trainer and assessor
• You must hold a valid E Class (employee) Working with Children Check to be able to undertake this role.

Salary and Conditions of Employment:

• The fulltime salary range is from $83,505.00 per annum to $105,885.00 per annum, plus 11% superannuation and is dependent on experience and qualifications.
• Conditions of employment will be covered by the Victoria University's Vocational Teacher Enterprise Agreement 2019.
