How will I contribute?

This position involves leading technical design, engineering, technological innovation, and continuous improvement for the technical capabilities and solutions supporting Customer Cortex, Democratisation, and Advanced Analytics & AI Services. As a member of the Data Engineering Chapter, you will assist in defining and enhancing the engineering craft, aiding engineers within your area of influence to develop and reach their full potential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading technical staff and engineers in Customer Cortex and Advanced Analytics services.
  • Ensuring the quality, resilience, and performance of technical solutions underpinning Customer Cortex and Advanced Analytics & AI services.
  • Ensuring services meet operational level agreements (OLAs) and can scale to meet user and business needs.
  • Meeting all Data Platforms, Technology, and Data Engineering Chapter metrics and KPIs for engineering teams.
  • Ensuring compliance of technical solutions with Westpac policies and standards.
  • Ensuring the robustness and resilience of technical solutions supporting Customer Cortex and Advanced Analytics & AI services.

What are the requirements?

  • Proficiency in technology solution design.
  • Experience in cloud-based Data, API, real-time, ML/AI engineering.
  • Knowledge of engineering fundamentals such as DevSecOps, CI/CD, and test-driven development.
  • Experience with SAFe 6.0.
  • Leadership in engineering teams, including coaching and mentoring.
  • Experience with LangChain, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), Vector and Graph databases would be advantageous.
