About the role

The APS6 Finance Business Partner role supports the month-end financial process, including preparing accrual journals, drafting reports and variance commentary, reviewing business area forecasts, and providing general financial advice and support to business areas.

You shall provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems.

  • Analysing and interpreting statistical reports to assist with the development of work plans and strategic planning.
  • Coordinating and providing cost estimates for all internal and external requests for changes to systems.
  • Developing correspondence for stakeholders, such as financial reports, corporate documentation and responses to ministerial submissions.
  • Managing quality assurance activities and outcomes including the use of integrity/error reporting and the coordination of quality audits.
  • Preparing a range of written material including business cases, reports and corporate documentation.
  • Undertaking quality assurance of feasibility and cost estimates, assumptions and justifications.
  • Undertaking detailed financial analysis of branch/division's variance to budget and forecast.
  • Undertaking financial administration and across the division's cost centres and projects, including budgets, monitoring, forecasting and accruals

Mandatory Skills and Experience

Applicants must have an active baseline clearance to be eligible for this position.

  • Has excellent written, communication, interpersonal skills and has an aptitude for collaboration and negotiation with a broad range of stakeholders within Federal government.
  • Facilitating change readiness, has a high attention to detail and a focus on delivery in a fastpaced environment.
  • Attention to details and working professiancy working on Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in working with SAP or similar financial systems will be desirable.
