Direct Care Australia is an aged care and disability community support provider across South-East Queensland.

We support people with both high and complex support needs.

About the Role
You will have experience supporting people with aged related and disability support needs.


We provide support to people, including children with a wide range of disabilities, including physical, mental health and complex care support.


The role will see you on the front-line providing daily support to persons with a physical and/or intellectual disability and/or with age-related support needs.


The Support Worker role may involve Manual Handling, Use of Lifts and Hoists, Medication administration, Community and Social access, Transportation, and Personal care.

Shifts range from 2-hour shift length in suburbs across Brisbane.

A reliable vehicle and availability across Mon - Sun is required.

Essential Criteria

  • Cert III or IV in Disability/Individual Support/Aged Care
  • Registered Nurses and/or Enrolled Nurses also encouraged to apply
  • Work experience in Disability or Aged Care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable and flexible
  • Current full driver's license and a reliable vehicle
  • Comprehensive car insurance
  • Current First Aid/CPR & Manual handling certificates
  • National Criminal History Check
  • Availability and willingness to work at least hours per week across 7 days
  • Smart phone required for DCA App and service delivery

Also MUST have the following:

  • Ability to provide personcentred and consumerdirected care
  • Availability to work across 7 days including passive and active night shifts
  • Demonstrated experience working with moderate to high challenging behaviours
  • Excellent written and spoken language skills and thorough casenoting experience
  • An ability to understand, listen, and communicate with people who have limited verbal communication capabilities or who have English as a second language

  • Understand that shifts may be a minimum of 2 hours per shift and travel between shifts is a requirement?
  • Understand that SHIFT LENGTH MAY BE 2 HOURS UPWARDS and I am able to travel a minimum of 40 km per each shift. Travel allowance is paid in between.
