About the Role:

  • We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to offer specialized guidance on various employee and labor relations projects, encompassing the negotiation and management of enterprise agreements.
  • In this key position within our corporate function, you will oversee the resolution of staff disputes and complaints.
  • Additionally, you will be tasked with supervising the provision of legal advice from external solicitors as necessary.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A Law degree (LLB), preferably with a focus on Industrial Relations or Employee Relations
  • Professional accreditation as a solicitor in NSW/VIC/ACT
  • Preferably, prior corporate legal experience
  • Extensive background in navigating complex industrial environments
  • Proven expertise in drafting and revising enterprise agreements and dealing with unions
  • Experience collaborating closely with HR departments on intricate employee and labor relations matters
  • Ability to work independently and tackle challenging assignments
  • Outstanding communication skills and the capacity to cultivate strong professional networks internally and externally
  • Familiarity with employment regulations and frameworks, including Fair Work laws and related statutes like the Secure Jobs Better Pay Act 2022
  • Proven track record in crafting, negotiating, and evaluating commercial contracts
