About the role:

The Digital Innovation team is currently seeking a Principal Digital Projects to join them on a Monday – Friday Roster based at Perth. Reporting to the Manager Digital Innovation, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating a broad range of digital initiatives, including formal project work and continuous business as usual (BAU) improvements. This role is pivotal in ensuring that digital project delivery is synchronized with ongoing operational enhancements, thereby fostering an environment of continuous digital innovation and agility within Roy Hill.

Duties:

  • Lead and coordinate the execution of digital project initiatives, ensuring they align with strategic business objectives and deliver value.
  • Facilitate and manage sprint planning (or equivalent) in collaboration with project teams to drive BAU improvements.
  • Integrate DevOps style methodologies into project management practices to enhance responsiveness and adaptability in project execution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process optimization and drive the implementation of digital solutions in BAU activities.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of digital projects and BAU improvements, ensuring transparency and alignment with business goals.
  • Mentor and support team members in adopting DevOps practices within their BAU and project work.
  • Coordinate with IT and business stakeholders to prioritize digital initiatives and ensure a balanced workload between project delivery and BAU enhancements.
  • Evaluate the impact of digital projects and BAU improvements on operational performance, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Assist stakeholders in defining business value and the on-going tacking of that value once implemented.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
  • Experience in mining/engineering/technology/commercial fields.
  • Hands-on experience in multiple underlying and emerging technologies.
  • Proven experience in leading digital projects within a large, complex organization.
  • Demonstrable experience using technology to solve problems in innovative ways.
