The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) provides care to more than 400,000 people living in the northern metropolitan area of Adelaide as well as providing a number of state-wide services, and services to those in regional areas.
NALHN offers a range of primary health care services across the northern metropolitan area of Adelaide, with a focus on providing preventive and health promoting programs in the community, and transition and hospital substitution and avoidance programs targeted at chronic disease and frail aged.
With our brand new Mental Health Short Stay Unit and the planned refurbishment and development of our Mental Health Inpatient Units across NALHN sites, state of the art facilities and technology are at the forefront of our future.
The network boasts newly redeveloped wards and Emergency and Outpatient Departments, with plans for the addition of more brand-new facilities in the near future.
Our 400-plus Allied Health professionals play an integral role in multidisciplinary teams delivering exceptional care to patients across our acute, subacute and hospital avoidance services.

An exciting opportunity exists to join NALHN as a Activity Supervisor within the highly skilled team at Forensic Mental Health.
- The Forensic Mental Health Service is a multidisciplinary service that consists of inpatient secure psychiatric beds, Outpatient Service and Psychiatric Clinics, Prison In-Reach Service, Community Team; and Court Assessment Service.
- The Activity Supervisor works within the secure psychiatric hospital, James Nash House / Kenneth O'Brien Rehabilitation Unit, which provides services primarily to mental health consumers who have been declared not guilty by reason of mental impairment or unfit to plead of an offence by the SA court system.
- The incumbent will work with clients with a serious mental illness using a range of appropriate rehabilitation and treatment approaches. The Activity Supervisor works collaboratively with the Allied Health multidisciplinary team and liaised directly with medical, nursing staff of NALHN and with other community agencies.
- The Activity Supervisor is a part of the Occupational Therapy Department and provides assistance and support to the Occupational Therapists in the delivery of services to patients of the Forensic Hospital. They will contribute to the development, maintenance and review of Occupational Therapy team service aims and objectives.
- As a part of the Occupational Therapy team and wider multidisciplinary team, the Activity Supervisor provides effective psychosocial support and rehabilitation activities to patients who have enduring and serious mental illness and associated complex needs. This includes, but not limited to, a wide range of group programs; individual activity or rehabilitation sessions; ward and hospital events; support to engage in community activities; and support Occupational Therapists in conducting assessment, goal development or rehabilitation plans. at the AHA2 level, the incumbent will work under direct, indirect or remote clinical supervision of Occupational Therapists. They will receive professional clinical supervision from an Occupational Therapist at the AHA3 level, the incumbent will work under general direction and mínimal supervision of Occupational Therapists. They will receive professional clinical supervision from an Occupational Therapist.
- To be eligible for this position at the AHA2 level, you must possess or be undertaking a Certificate 3 in Allied Health Assistance, or equivalent.
- To be eligible for this position at the AHA3 level, you must possess a minimum of Certificate 4 in Allied Health Assistance, or equivalent.

In addition to the mandatory vaccination requirements for all SA Health roles under this Policy SA Health workers must also comply with any vaccination requirements imposed under legislation (including any directions under the _Emergency Management Act 2004 _or the _South Australian Public Health Act 2011_) and any mandatory vaccination requirements under the terms and conditions of employment of employees.
