About the role

We are seeking an experienced, proactive and confident Divisional Controller to join Brickworks team at our Austral Masonry office in Yatala, QLD. Reporting to the Finance Manager-Austral Masonry, your main responsibility will be to deliver management and financial accounting services to fulfill both Divisional and Corporate needs, as well as providing business partnering with the General Manager Austral Masonry, Queensland and the overall Masonry executive team.

Duties include but are not limited to

  • Prepare divisional profit and loss accounts and balance sheet, analysing variances to budget and forecast.
  • Ensure accurate and timely management accounts that meet business unit and Corporate Office requirements.
  • Coordinate and complete the monthend process, taking overall ownership of deliverables and communication with other divisions.
  • Manage weekly profit forecasts submitted to head office.
  • Fulfill all local compliance requirements (e.g., FBT, etc.).
  • Lead, direct, and develop financial staff to ensure accurate, ethical, and consistent activities according to regulations and standards.
  • Oversee the daytoday operations of the Queensland divisional finance function.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to prepare the Annual Budget.
  • Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts.
  • Handle ad hoc reporting and queries and contribute to special projects as required.
  • Provide support and assistance to operational staff, including state and plant managers.
  • Work with Auditors to conduct financial audits and implement audit recommendations.
  • Perform monthend reconciliation and account closing processes.

Success Requirements

  • Bachelor of Finance or equivalent.
  • CA or CPA Qualified.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial and operational Management.
  • Proven experience in managing a successful team.
  • Demonstrated experience in tax compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing financial reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake financial analysis to improve operational and financial performance.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
