You will deliver new features and business capabilities to enable digitisation of customer journeys and processes resulting in outcomes that are measurable via KPIs, real-time feedback Omniture and Analytics reports and NPS for Online applications.

As a Software Engineer, you apply broad knowledge and technical know-how in the Software Engineering domain to deliver the following responsibilities:

  • Design, Develop, Deploy and improve specific technologies and their interaction with Telstra processes and systems as part of Agile teams to deliver products and services to customer business units.
  • Achieve a well-defined, functioning and repeatable set of key technology processes to ensure consistent quality is maintained.
  • Perform application performance, load analysis and capacity planning as required to support the solution.
  • Managing/Leading support in a DevOps model for the maintenance for applications in the production and pre-production environments which includes roster work including weekends (with relevant compensation).
  • Project estimation, planning sequencing, dependency management – deep technical input to formal project management processes
  • Review and integrate application requirements, including functional, security, integration, performance, quality, and operations requirements. Review and integrate the technical architecture requirements for the development, execution, and operations environments.
  • Contribute to the design of new application features. Ideal candidates will be motivated to challenge proposed designs and suggest alternative solutions to the team.
  • Innovate and contribute to lifting team standards and drive continuous improvement.
  • Communicate with stakeholders as required (eg. during feature delivery, production support)
  • Contribute to best practices in the operation of the team (eg. TDD, coding standards, continuous integration, pair programming, design patterns. code optimisations).
