Our client, a Federal Government Agency, is looking for a skilled Vulnerability Analyst to join Australia's cyber defense team and contribute to securing our digital landscape.

As a part of this critical role, you will be responsible for identifying and resolving cyber hygiene issues in government IT services by detecting vulnerabilities, open ports, encryption weaknesses, and more. Your tasks will include handling High-priority Operational Tasks by rapidly analyzing new vulnerabilities and determining their impact.

What we're looking for: If you have a background in penetration testing or SOC analysis and a strong understanding of vulnerability mechanisms such as RCE, LPE, deserialization, path traversal, and authentication bypass, you could be the perfect fit. Your ability to quickly assess new vulnerabilities, even with limited information, is key.

Requirements:

  • Experience in identifying software vulnerabilities, particularly remote ones.
  • Capability to develop software (scripts, tools) for detecting and verifying vulnerabilities.
  • Expertise in vulnerability management and triage.
  • Proficiency in researching and analyzing open-source vulnerability reports.
  • Hold an AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance.

Preferred qualifications:

  • General knowledge of technical cybersecurity, both offensive and defensive.
  • Familiarity with vulnerabilities in ICS/OT devices.

Job Specifications:

  • Location: Canberra - on-site work.
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens and possess an AGSVA Security Clearance.
  • 12-month contract starting on 5 August 2024 with potential extensions.
