The School has two centres of research: Centre for Nursing, Midwifery and Health Services Research (CNMHSR) and the Centre for Research in Aged Care (CRAC). Both CNMHSR and CRAC share a common mission to improve the health and wellbeing of communities and society through evidence-based innovations in nursing and midwifery practice.


The purpose of the Centre for Nursing, Midwifery and Health Services Research (CNMHSR) is to generate evidence through excellence in research that will inform clinical practice and improve outcomes for the global healthcare community.


The CNMHSR has three research groups:
Safety and Quality in Healthcare

Improving Outcomes for Adults with Chronic Health Conditions

Childbearing, Children and Young People

Position description
We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and highly motivated person to work on a Digital Child project in close collaboration with the team to assist and support academic staff in the areas of:
Literature reviews;
Data collection and analysis (qualitative and quantitative); and

Contribution to reports


The role will provide a great opportunity to learn under the mentorship of experienced researchers, and develop skills, knowledge, and experience in the university setting.

Accountabilities:

Draft reports/ research papers.

Ensure confidential data is obtained, handled, and stored in accordance with current data protection and ethical guidelines.

Undertake sourcing, collation, analysis and reporting of research results and keep appropriate records.


Employees are required to participate in all ECU, team, and individual planning activities; comply with ECU policies and practices in all aspects of their work and conduct; and ensure the safety and wellbeing of themselves and others by complying with OSH and EO requirements.


Capabilities:

Qualification:

Completion of a health-related degree OR equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training or professional accreditation.


Experience: - 5 years' experience in relevant discipline area. Previous experience undertaking research ideally with qualitative, quantitative and systematic review skills.

Customer Focus:

Focusing on all aspects of customer service to achieve quality outcomes for all parties including internal and external customers at all levels.


Planning and Organising:

Comprises setting objectives, planning, managing time, managing resources, monitoring progress, evaluating results and taking corrective action utilising ECU's Excellence Framework.


Interpersonal Skills:
Ability to work cooperatively with others to accomplish joint tasks and common objectives.

Presenting and Communicating Information:

Ability to organise and present information, views and concepts in a concise, understandable and interesting format for a variety of audiences, from ECU's internal and external communities.


Workplace efficiency and effectiveness:
Knowledge of resources available across the system internally and externally.

Benefits & Remuneration

This part time, fixed term position attracts remuneration of $78,854 to $87,624 pa (pro rata 60%) plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
