Job Description:

We are in search of a highly skilled and motivated DCS (Distributed Control System) Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be in charge of designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing DCS systems to guarantee smooth and reliable operations within the Gold Mining industry in Papua New Guinea. The position entails four weeks onsite in PNG followed by two weeks off after each rotation, with the remaining time spent at the Brisbane office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, configure, and implement DCS systems and associated hardware/software
  • Develop and manage control strategies, logic, and graphics
  • Conduct troubleshooting, diagnostics, and offer technical assistance
  • Execute system testing, commissioning, and start-up tasks
  • Collaborate with various teams including operations, maintenance, and project engineering
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies
  • Enhance system performance and reliability through continuous improvement efforts
  • Create and update documentation including functional specifications and operation manuals
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of DCS engineering experience, preferably in mining
  • Proficiency with DCS platforms like ABB, Honeywell, Emerson, Siemens, or Yokogawa
  • Solid grasp of process control principles, instrumentation, and automation
  • Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail
  • Capability to work autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with PLCs, SCADA, and HMI systems
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity standards for industrial control systems
  • Background in project management or project engineering
