WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

About the Team


This role reports to the Category Manager Mechanical and will be based at our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) in Redbank, Ipswich.

You will work in a team of 9 in the Mechanical category, but also work alongside the greater Procurement team and the greater Supply Chain team.


About the Role


Reporting directly to the Category Manager Mechanical, you will be responsible for coordinating and then leading the sourcing of goods and services in relation to our powerpack / driveline module.

As a Procurement Specialist
, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:

  • The management of quotes, tenders, purchase requisitions; orders and securing goods and services that deliver the best overall commercial value;
  • Strategic sourcing; negotiation of pricing and other commercial arrangements with suppliers;
  • Supplier Relationship management; performance reporting, reviews and materials management;
  • Actively drive cost reductions and increase value for money while championing opportunities for improvement;
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and continued improvement of procurement related working instructions and guidelines;
  • Effectively represent RDA and liaise with industry bodies and government industry representatives to ensure alignment with Rheinmetall global processes;
  • Drive continuous improvement of cost and supply base performance;
  • Build Supplier Relationship & drive Partnership and collaboration at all levels;
  • Engagement with internal stakeholders across the business to develop and maintain effective, efficient and cooperative working relationships; and
  • Provide support to the Procurement Commodity Leads and the Procurement Manager for periodical reporting activities, reviews and AIC industry requirements.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:

  • Hold a qualification in Procurement or Supply Chain related fields;
  • Experience working in a heavy mechanical category, particularly focusing on powerpack modules or driveline modules;
  • Proven experience & results in end to end procurement preferably within a multinational company;
  • The ability to demonstrate experience across all Procurement fundamentals sourcing, tending, contracts, market research analysis, reporting and negotiations;
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels;
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills are essential, SAP experience highly regarded;
  • Ability to travel internationally and interstate, when required; and
  • Be eligible for an Australian Government Security Clearance and have the capacity to satisfy preemployment screening.
