Senior QCAA Curriculum and Teacher Development Coordinator

We are seeking suitable candidates for the role of Senior QCAA Curriculum and Teacher Development Coordinator.

Start date: January full time position

Location: Very close to Brisbane CBD

Our client is an independent secular co-educational school that values and celebrates diversity in their community. Student Success Advisors work with students, providing health and wellbeing support and guidance.

This exciting role will have two primary functions:

1. Key operational and strategic position for the coordination, development and administration of the Australian Curriculum (Year 11 and 12), both within the school and in liaison with ACARA and NSSAB.

Some key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the learning and teaching support the Australian Curriculum and College ethos and values;
  • Ensuring all subjects offered by the Australian Curriculum at Senior level are supported by up to date resources, including periodic ACARA publications and notices;
  • Ensuring internal and external professional development opportunities are available to improve the knowledge, skill base and experience or teaching staff; This will also include planning and delivering workshops within the school as part of the school's overall professional development plan;
  • Maintain a high quality in approaches to learning and pedagogy and providing guidance planning teams;
  • Establish and maintain effective pipelines of communication about the QCAA Year 11 and 12 Curriculum;
  • Internal examination block preparation, planning and implementation;
  • QCAA Year 11 and 12 academic progress tracking

2. Support and professional development of Teachers

  • Work with the Principal to develop and implement a professional development framework for teachers;
  • Assist the Principal with staff recruitment

This role will also have a small teaching load (likely to be 0.3).

Specific Knowledge and Skills required:

  • QCT registered teacher, necessary.
  • Experience as a HOD overseeing the Australian curriculum, preferred.
  • High level technological skills, including but not limited to ManageBAC, MyIB, Sharepoint, Microsoft Teams
  • Excellence in verbal and written interpersonal skills highly valued;
  • Demonstrated experience in a role where planning and organisation are key requirements
