We are an award winning artisan gluten-free bakery with a Cafe in the CBD and another in Waverley and a third soon to be opening in Alexandria.

Our very busy HACCP certified business trades 7 days a week for take away, online orders, deliveries, catering, wholesale, cooking classes and more.

Accredited by Coeliac Australia, our range of innovative premium sweet and savoury products are hand-made with fresh seasonal ingredients.

We are looking for an amazing addition to look after ingredient prep, dishwashing, cleaning and assisting our bakery team from our Alexandria kitchen.

We have big plans and going through an exiciting period of growth

This important team member will be responsible for:

  • Manual repetetive high volume work such and lining pastry into pie foils, filling pies, pastie mix, sausage mince processing etc. Heavy lifting of up to 25kg ingredient bags
  • Advising of ingredients needed for your production and rotating stock including any changes to products or availability
  • Recording total number of products made daily and packing for our cafe locations
  • Receiving deliveries, recording temperatures, checking products recieved on invoice are what was ordered and putting away delivered goods
  • Responsible for weekly cleaning schedule to make sure kitchen is getting regular scheduled cleaning of equipment, coolroom, staff room, loading dock and packaging room
  • End of month stocktake counting of ingredients, chemicals and packaging.
  • Daily sandwich and salad preparation

Experience required:

  • Ability to manage your cleaning and prep list to meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail regarding cleaning and working in the kitchen team
  • Commercial kitchen, bakery, restaurant, food manufacturing or multisite cafe operations experience of all rounder/kitchen hand/sandwich hand/cook/cleaner/process worker for at least 6 months
  • Safe food handling knowledge and experience
  • Rotating stock and ingredients based on first in first out methodology
  • Identify and notify team when cleaning supplies/chemicals need to be ordered
  • Packing products and orders for wholesale and online customers

  • Intermediate English / communication skills to update team members
  • Problem solving to find the best solution for the company and the team
  • An interest in food, bakery, manufacturing, glutenfree and understanding intolerances.

Job Types:

Pay:
$22.61 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
