The Organisation
This is a major public healthcare provider within a specific region. The service has been providing quality service and care for residents for over 100 years.

It offers a variety of services including emergency, acute medical and surgical, sub-acute and residential inpatient beds, and community and primary care services.

Services are also provided from multiple sites within the region.

The Job

  • The General Medicine Registrar assists in the management of medical and admitted inpatients
  • You will be responsible for managing patients admitted under the medical ward consultant
  • This position entails rotating AM, PM and night duty shifts on the acute medical ward, including admission and management of patients admitted to the acute medical ward beds under the supervision of the senior medical staff doctor on duty in the acute medical ward, and responding to MET calls and Code Blues
  • You will provide clinical support to the haemodialysis unit under the supervision of Monash Nephrology
  • The General Medidcine Registrar will play an active role in supervising junior doctors and medical students in the acute medical ward
  • You will work in a highly collaborative manner with the broader medical unit, as well as with other members of the Health Service

Requirements:

  • Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) with minimum Level 2 supervision requirements, OR eligibility for registration via the Competent Authority Pathway
  • Please note doctors seeking their first position in Australia via the Standard Pathway or doctors with current registration and Level 1 supervision requirements cannot be considered at this time
