About the roles


At the
Public Service Commission, we collect quantitative and qualitative data on the whole of the NSW Public Sector workforce and analyse this data to report trends and insights on the largest workforce in Australia.


The Workforce Profile is a census of the NSW Public Sector's employees, collecting de-identified data including demographic information such as age, gender and other diversity items, and employment information such as occupation, hours worked, and mobility within the sector.

The People Matter Employee Survey (PMES) asks NSW Public Sector employees about their experience and perceptions of their employment, with questions across a range of workplace issues and practices.


We are looking for two temporary analysts who will participate in the field work, analysis and reporting of these data collections.

Each analyst will focus on supporting one data collection, and participate in quality checks, analysis, and preparing reports and presentations.

The role supporting the PMES includes more field work and administrative support functions, while the role supporting the workforce profile includes more analysis and reporting.

We are looking for individuals who can:

  • Engage, consult and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Compile, organise and analyse large data sets using various analytical and statistical techniques
  • Work as a part of a team to produce reports and presentations that effectively communicate trends and insights
  • Delivery results in the required timeframe in a highvolume environment

About the Public Service Commission


The
NSW Public Service Commission (PSC) is headed by an independent Public Service Commissioner and is a separate agency under the _Government Sector Employment Act 2013_ (GSE Act) that supports the Commissioner in exercising her functions and powers.

The PSC leads the design, development and implementation of the full range of workforce management strategies - including workforce capability, recruitment and assessment, performance management, and strategic workforce planning - to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the NSW public sector workforce
