The Role
A great opportunity is open for a Fitter/Armourer to join our team at Lavarack Barracks, Townsville. We handle all mechanical tasks related to the maintenance of Defence vehicles and equipment.

What you will be doing

• Inspect and repair Defence's variety of weapon systems, from small arms to heavy artillery and armored vehicles like M1A1 Abrams Tanks
• Conduct major overhauls and modifications to equipment and support units
• Ensure all procedures are in line with QA standards
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities
• Identify parts and materials needed for servicing and repairs
• Certify equipment for use based on trade qualifications

About you
We are looking for someone who:

• Has a recognized Trade Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Has Defence-recognized maintenance qualifications
• Can pass security clearances for accessing weapon storage facilities
• Communicates effectively in a team setting

Australian citizenship and eligibility for Defence Security Clearance are required.
