About the Role:

You will report to a dynamic CTO and be part of a skilled technology team, tasked with spearheading a data function transformation at a group level using cutting-edge tools and technologies to enhance data capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and guide a Junior Developer
  • Create a strategic roadmap for the data function aligned with business needs
  • Project-manage the development of new databases, data warehouse, migration to a data lake model, and implement a new BI tool like PowerBI or Amazon QuickSight
  • Design and deploy data storage solutions using AWS platforms (Amazon RDS, Redshift, S3)
  • Continuously refine data systems for optimal performance and scalability
  • Establish and maintain data pipelines for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT processing)
  • Supervise data governance and uphold best practices for sound data quality

About You:

  • Hold relevant IT qualifications or Product certifications (AWS certification is an advantage)
  • Proven experience in data architecture and maintaining data systems
  • Proficient in Python and Java programming
  • Knowledgeable in data modeling, analysis, and profiling
  • Familiar with CI/CD principles and DevOps strategies
  • Experience in Data engineering, BI/Software development, extraction, and manipulation in Data Lake/Warehouse environments
  • Skilled in Agile methodologies
  • Effective communicator with technical leadership abilities
  • Passionate about data trends and emerging technologies for continuous improvement
