Location:
Ideally this position will be located remotely to Chinchilla, or Dalby, QLD. We'll also consider Brisbane, QLD as a location.

Reporting to:

Technical Operations Manager The role: Akaysha Energy is about to commence operations of two state of the art Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in the South-East Queensland region.

The role of Site Manager is required to run the day-to-day operations of these two sites, having ownership over site safety, reliability and production.

You'll work in with external contractors who will be responsible for 24/7 site operations (via a remote control room) and maintenance of equipment on site (via Battery service providers and balance of plant service providers).

This role will also be responsible for managing any other contractor work completed on site.

You will be involved in setting up all the requirements for these sites, including assisting in design, construction and handover from our development and delivery team - influencing outcomes as we build the sites.

You will be pivotal in the early operational cycle and experience of the Akaysha portfolio and in the Australian BESS market as a whole.

This role will provide you with an opportunity to gain a higher-level management experience of high value assets, with options to progress to other sites or into broader portfolio management roles as Akaysha grows its asset base both locally in Australia, and overseas in our emerging markets.


Key responsibilities will include:

Manage overall site safety, including development and/or implementation of a site safety plan, and ensuring all contractors and visitors are inducted under a best practice site access procedure.

Responsibility for compliance and management of all project agreements with support from wider Akaysha team as needed, to maximise assets' financial performance, life, and safety.

Develop and manage annual maintenance plans in conjunction with maintenance contractors and around any relevant contractual and commercial considerations.
Assist with pre-Operations activities such AEMO registration, reviews of subcontractor scopes and pricing, development of operational budgets.
Assist with development of operational processes and procedures, including tools to drive efficiencies.

Monitor and report out on asset performance, reliability, and health - for example capacity, degradation, round-trip efficiency, availability, operational health such as thermal events, outage, average SOC and cycling rates.

Lead, monitor, and report out on maintenance activities of the project such as availability, fire detection and suppression, planned and actual operational and maintenance activities, availability of spare parts, responses to unplanned repairs, thermal management, and firmware updates What you'll bring: Experience in management of or working on/with electrical assets Leadership experience via managing direct reports OR directly managing a contractor work force Demonstratable history in site safety and work management (work authorisation, safe work procedures and processes)Experience in maintenance planning and management HV switching experience, Pre-operations experience (setting up site operating procedures, processes for greenfield sites) and Experience in renewable energy assets will be highly regarded.
