We represent a leading Australian energy organisation which is playing a critical role in Australia's transition to renewable energy.

As an upshot of growth, they are currently looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join the Legal team in their Sydney headquarters.

Position Description

In this role as a Senior Legal Counsel you will be supporting and collaborating closely with the major projects, delivery, and procurement teams.

The Senior Legal Counsel will provide strategic, timely and commercially focused legal advice on all aspects of the project, from initial contracting through delivery and any potential claims/disputes.

You will be a trusted advisor and business partner who will work closely with the project teams and wider legal team and other functions.

Overseeing all aspects of legal advice for the project, this will include leading complex contractual negotiations, management of legal risk, strategic support in management of contractors including settlement of claims, management of any disputes and potential litigation/arbitration, co-ordination of legal resources (both specialist in-house and external lawyers) and providing advice to ensure successful delivery of the projects.

Key Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have 7+ years' PAE, with a focus on large infrastructure projects.

Ideally, you will have had exposure to both law firm and in-house environments.
