About the Role

At the core of our operations lies our Response Network comprising Sonder Responders who deliver in-person assistance to members when needed, in collaboration with our Support Centre. Individuals with experience in the specified industries, both current and former employees, are encouraged to apply, with ample flexibility to maintain a healthy work-life balance alongside on-call responsibilities.

As a Sonder Responder, you will operate in a casual capacity within the network.

Sonder Responders follow a flexible 24-hour on-call schedule, presenting an exciting chance for dedicated individuals to grow and develop the Australian network from the ground up. Your proficiency in decision-making, response tactics, empathy, and dedication to aiding others will be pivotal to your success and fulfillment in this position. You will have the freedom to specify your availability hours and will receive competitive compensation for on-call availability, as well as incident responses.

Additionally, you will collaborate with the Response Network Manager to:

• Engage stakeholders to bolster Sonder's business and operational outcomes as required
• Cultivate partnerships, engagement, and training initiatives
• Contribute to operational protocols and network management
• Participate in emergency and non-emergency support responses to assist the network of responders in your vicinity

Who We Seek

We are searching for seasoned professionals from military, law enforcement, mental health, or emergency services backgrounds who are dedicated to aiding individuals in distress. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to assess critical situations and determine or recommend appropriate steps forward. Empathy is fundamental.

You should have:

• Recent or ongoing experience in emergency services, military, and/or security-related roles in Australia, along with a robust local network
• A high level of self-awareness, drive, and self-regulation
• The capacity to prioritize tasks, address key issues promptly, make swift decisions, and exhibit interpersonal sensitivity
• Availability to work on a flexible on-call basis
