The role

The Facilities Officer is a point of contact for Regional Officers assisting with accommodation, maintenance and fleet management activities ensuring a high quality and efficient customer service is provided and assets are managed in accordance with standard government and legislative requirements.

You will contribute to facility management across the regions including building security, refurbishments, minor works, contract management, building inductions, and the supervision of contractors working on site during and outside of normal working hours as required.

In addition, you'll manage WHS and emergency situations during and outside business hours and undertake the role as Deputy Chief Fire Warden. Along with assisting the Assets Branch with WHS, assets and fleet management activities across the regions while maintaining good file management practices, you'll develop, maintain and report on registers, databases, spreadsheets and documents related to facilities services.

While this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies (permanent, fixed-term, full-time or part-time) within the department for the next 12 months, from the date that the recruitment breach period has been finalised.

To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments) at the time of application.

This position is located in Kalgoorlie, one of the major cities in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia.
