Trainer and Assessor

The Education and Learning portfolio offers a variety of accredited, non-accredited, and case management services. We are seeking qualified Trainer/Assessors with a Construction background to play a key role in shaping the future generation of tradespeople.

As a Trainer/Assessor - Construction, you will have the chance to deliver efficient training and assessment to clients, addressing the diverse learning needs of each student, including language, literacy, and numeracy.

This position is based at SYC's Kent Town site with frequent travel to our Elizabeth site on a permanent full-time basis.

You will collaborate with the Training Management Team to provide top-notch training, guidance, and mentorship to help students achieve their learning objectives. Your daily responsibilities will include:

• Assessing and addressing students' varied learning needs.
• Conducting student course/qualification inductions.
• Ensuring training meets industry requirements and VET Quality Framework.
• Developing strategies for optimal client and learning outcomes.
• Maintaining accurate training assessment records.
• Monitoring student progress.
• Complying with SYC Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.

About You

We are looking for someone with excellent engagement skills, the ability to interact effectively with students, and ensure quality outcomes. The successful candidate will also have:

• Experience in the construction industry.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Engaging presentation skills and effective communication abilities.
• For this role, you must:

• Hold a TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or higher qualification).
• Possess industry-based qualifications and experience.
• Maintain an approved First Aid Certificate.
• Be eligible to work in Australia.
• Have a valid driver's licence and a safe vehicle.
• Have a flexible approach to training delivery.
