About Blue Haven:

Blue Haven Illawarra is owned and operated by Kiama Municipal Council.

We offer a true continuum of aged care services and a wide range of disability services for people in the Illawarra region.

We provide residential aged care, in-home support, disability support and coordination, community transport and independent living.


Blue Haven require passionate, qualified, and experienced professionals to join our organisation to support our aged care clients and residents.

Blue Haven Bonaira services over 1,200 clients across Residential Aged Care, Retirement Living, Home Care Packages, Commonwealth Home Support Program and Community Transport across the Illawarra and Shoalhaven.


The role:


As Maintenance Supervisor you will maintain Blue Haven's Care Home building, gardens and other property which includes managing and scheduling the daily maintenance work at Blue Haven Care Home.


To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in preparing specifications for obtaining quotes from contractors, evaluation of responses and the monitoring of the delivery of quality, cost and time by contractors.
  • Demonstrated skills and ability in property maintenance, material selection and use
  • Demonstrated initiative and problem solving abilities including the ability to work without direct supervision when necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Class C Drivers License.

About you:


You will have well developed interpersonal, negotiation and time management skills which will allow you to work effectively with people and organise work to run in an efficient manner.

Your teamwork, initiative and problem solving skills will be strong and you will be able to work without direct supervision when necessary.

Although not required, it would be beneficial to have an electrical, plumbing or mechanical trade qualification.

We offer:

  • Full time permanent position, working 38 hours per week
  • Annual salary from $59,280 to $64,844 plus a weekly allowance when working additional duties
  • The ability to salary sacrifice up to $9,009 in pretax earnings plus $2,550 meal and entertainment card (for eligible employees)
  • Plus 10.5% superannuation and applicable penalty rates
