Theatresports Coach

General
The Theatresports group is for students from Year 9 to Year 12, dedicated to practicing improvisational

games and participating in competitions. This group provides students with the chance to showcase and

enhance their skills by taking part in events such as the Impro Australia School Theatresports challenge

and the All Girls Shield.

Location - Drama Theatre

Time - Friday 3:30-5pm

Position Overview
The Theatresports Coach is responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of the cocurricular activity

and reporting any concerns to the Theatresports Coordinator. This role involves working closely with the

Theatresports Coordinator to ensure the effective running of meetings, competitions, and events for

participants. The coach is also responsible for accompanying students to competition evenings and

workshops.

Responsibilities

• Organise training sessions including warm up and cool down
• Collaborate with the Theatresports coordinator to create term and event schedules
• Teach the ensemble the requirements of games
• Teach the rules of the competition format
• Feedback to teams during each training session
• Accompany students at competition evenings to warm up students, track progress and give

feedback (including supervising students at interval)

• Provide feedback to students about areas of improvement after competitions
• Marking of teams in games with coordinator in the lead up to competition
• Leadership of the Theatresports Captain
• Record team choices prior to competition
• Keep up to date with current practice (Impro Australia and Schools Comp).
