The Opportunity

We have a unique opportunity for a Solicitor to join our Corporate Energy & Resources team, to be based in Perth or Brisbane.

You will work with Jay Leary, Band 1 ranked Partner and Global Head of Mining for HSF, as well as other industry leading professionals. Jay is recognised globally as a leading lawyer in the mining industry. He is profiled in Chambers & Co (Tier 1), Best Lawyers (2009 to 2018), ILC Which Lawyer, Doyles' Guide (in the pre-eminent category), IFLR, ALB, Who's Who, and was rated by ILC as Australian energy and resources lawyer of the year in 2011, 2015 and 2017.

The team represents a broad spectrum of mining clients, from major Australian and international corporations to small local operations, with a predominant focus on critical minerals and clean energy.

In this role, you will undertake a range of work including private M&A, joint ventures, operating agreements, marketing agreements, royalty agreements and development projects.

To be successful in this role you will have:

demonstratable legal experience from a leading top or mid-tier, national or boutique specialist firm. admission to practice in Australia or New Zealand. an excellent academic record. first-class attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to comprehend intricate legal matters a proactive approach and desire to be an integral member of our leading and supportive team; and a hunger to learn and develop and be part of maintaining a market-leading mining practice.
