Y Whittlesea is a not-for-profit that happens to be the oldest youth organisation in the world and oldest social enterprise where all profits go back into our communities.

We are passionate about delivering person-centred support, services and programs. We empower people with a disability, providing them with opportunities to participate in inclusive and innovative programs. At Y Whittlesea, we provide the foundation for people to achieve their goals and empower them to lead dignified lives.

What's the opportunity?

As we continue to grow, we are looking for passionate Disability Camp Support Workers to join our Camps Program during the School holiday (with potential for ongoing camp work).

Our fun, exciting and unique camps provide participants with a sense of adventure and achievement. The activities focus on building independent living skills, social skills, and community access.

As a Disability Camp Support Worker, you will provide camp activities that are fun and flexible to children, teenagers and adults with varying disabilities. Your mission is to ensure every participant embarks on thrilling adventures, hones their skills, enjoys social interactions, and achieves personal milestones.

What do we hope you'll bring?

  • You need the legal right to live and work in Australia. (Sorry - it is what it is).
  • A genuine passion for working in the disability sector
  • Experience in Disability Services Sector (Just starting out? We'd love to hear from you too)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Being flexible and reliable
  • Willingness to give 110% attention to building life skills and the care of people with disability
  • Current Employee Working with Children
  • Current NDIS Worker Clearance Check
  • International Police check if you have lived outside Australia in the last 5 years
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate
