Bendigo Kangan Institute (BKI) is an organisation that encompasses a history of over 165 years of education and training, BKI is one of the largest TAFEs in Victoria with ten campuses stretching from Docklands to Echuca.


BKI is an organisation that comprises the following:

  • Kangan Institute prominent provider of vocational education and training (VET) for metropolitan Melbourne
  • Bendigo TAFE prominent provider of vocational education and training (VET) for regional Victoria.
  • VETASSESS a leading Australian Assessing Authority and independent assessmentonly registered training organisation for clients nationally and internationally
- eWorks - an e-learning hosting, content and consultancy specialist.


Bendigo Kangan Institute (BKI) is entering a significant phase of campus development where we have major new facilities to deliver in the next four years across new and existing campuses including; Health and Community Centre of Excellence, Broadmeadows, Hume Technical School, Sunbury Satellite Campus Castlemaine Health Learning Hub and Melton Campus.


Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, and working with the Executive Director of Campus Transformation and Chief Industry & Educaton Officer you will be responsible for working across the organisation to oversee and coordinate all aspects of establishing new campuses and facilities including feasibility, operating model, user requirements, education delivery, staffing, and operationalization to ensure the successful launch and smooth functioning of the campus and/or integration of new buildings into their campuses.

You will lead a small team of professionals to create an environment that fosters collaboration with internal delivery partners such as education delivery, student experience, operations, and community and stakeholder engagement with the new facilities.

Importantly, you will play a pivotal role in activating the new campuses and facilities, ensuring their success, and contributing to the growth and reputation of BKI.


To be successful in this role, you will be a leader with experience in the development and operationalisation of new multi-site capital work projects, ideally with experience in the education or aligned sectors.

This will include end to end project management, managing complex budgets and effective resource management.

You are known for your strong leadership and ability to lead and motivate multi-disciplinary teams effectively, while providing clarity on accountabilities and deliverables.

You will bring extensive experience effectively engage with a broad range of stakeholders across government, industry and community and bring a strong startup mindset to these projects.

Familiarity with educational regulations and accreditation processes will be highly regarded.


Please note that the successful applicant will require a Working with Children Check, National Police Check, and will hold full working rights in Australia.

This role will permanently be based at the Cremorne campus and will require travel to other metro and regional campuses in Victoria.
