Join our team as a Micro-Business Credit Manager and take charge of our dedicated credit function for micro-businesses.

As the Credit Manager, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth operations of the credit department, focusing on businesses with a typical annual turnover of
Drive growth while maintaining portfolio credit quality through strategic analysis and risk mitigation.


You will have the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams, leveraging data analytics and technology to improve credit decisioning.

Your expertise will directly impact our risk management strategies and customer experience, contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a small team of underwriters owning the day to credit function for microbusinesses (typical annual turnover
  • Ensuring the customer experience meets or exceeds market expectations by ensuring response times are within appropriately set SLAs and that any communication with customers or brokers is of the company's standard.
  • Understand inputs and limitations of various models and risk indicators in order to make sound "at the margin" decisions or overrides.
  • Work with line 2 portfolio manager to ensure that both front book and back book of customers perform within risk tolerances.
Manage limit reviews on existing micro-business customers. Appropriately conduct spot hindsight's and reviews of "outliers" both in terms of decision and CX. Ensure the team is appropriately resourced at all required times. Provide coaching and mentorship to team members, fostering their professional development. Make recommendations for system and process improvement to enable Shift to reach its objectives

Qualifications:

  • Experience managing a team in a customer facing, fastpaced environment.
  • Experience assessing credit (either consumer or commercial) based on bank statements or other nontraditional data.
  • Experience working with data in risk or analytics role advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience with finance products embedded into a pointofsale environment is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Attention to detail underpinned by intuitive and investigative skills.
  • Ability to make decisions in a logical and considered way
  • Ability to communicate respectfully in a succinct and informative manner with external and internal stakeholders
