About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for Employment Consultants (Health and Wellbeing Coach) to join our team in South Brisbane on a contract until June 30, 2025. Our Employment Services division focuses on creating opportunities to support job seekers in finding meaningful employment and contributing positively to society. We offer a comprehensive program that includes case management, coaching, skills training, pre-vocational training, and job matching, in collaboration with key organizations across different sectors.

Reporting to the Area Manager, the duties of an employment consultant will involve:

  • Managing a caseload of job seekers to help them secure sustainable employment by addressing vocational and non-vocational barriers.
  • Guiding and supporting customers with non-vocational challenges through coaching, mentoring, and connecting them with community resources.
  • Collaborating with customers to develop tailored plans that align with their individual needs and aspirations.
  • Utilizing external partnerships to implement co-case management strategies for customers requiring intensive support.
  • Referring customers to the Allied Health team for assistance in overcoming identified barriers.
  • Assisting customers in job search activities by sourcing vacancies and facilitating introductions to potential employers.
  • Building strong relationships with customers, understanding their objectives, progress, and circumstances while managing expectations effectively.
  • Demonstrating empathy, respect, and attentiveness to customer needs.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Extensive experience in case management.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for building effective relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and mentoring abilities.
  • Active listening skills and the capacity to handle difficult customer situations.
