Our Company

Mackellar is one of Australia's largest privately owned mining equipment & service providers in Mining and Civil Earthmoving.

We are the mining services contractor for Bravus' Carmichael Mine and together we are creating jobs and opportunities for regional Queensland.

Production is in full swing at the mine site located in the Galilee Basin and we're excited to be building our team

Townsville and Rockhampton are our primary recruitment hubs, however we also offer flights from Mackay and Cairns. We also encourage and will consider applicants from all regional Queensland communities.

About the role


You will play an integral role within our site-based maintenance team, responsible for the safe and efficient running of the yard as well as Dogging duties.

Key duties and responsibilities include;

  • Assisting with loading and unloading inbound and outbound trucks
  • Maintain a safe, clean and efficient work environment
  • Assisting with Non-Slew Crane Operations
  • Perform dogging and lifting operations
  • Maintain order and good housekeeping
  • Assist and support other team members as required.
Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role you must have prior experience working as a Yard Hand and Dogging at an Open Cut Coal Mining Operation and possess;

  • Current Standard 1
  • Forklift, Non-Slew Crane (Franna) Ticket
  • High Risk Work Licence
  • Conduct Dogging/Lifting Operations RII
  • Current QLD HR Drivers Licence.
