Job Description:

SGS is looking for a Category Specialist based in the Brisbane CBD.

In this role you will be the primary interface for the assigned Categories between all associated stakeholders - Shared Services, Business Lines (BL), Vendors and the Global Category Management team.

Some other responsibilities will be, however not limited to:

  • Planning, forecasting and procurement of materials and services.
  • Strategic sourcing and full procurement lifecycle activities: requirements elicitation, tender development, contracting strategy, panel lead supplier evaluation, supplier management, contract development, contract negotiation and establishment with commercial alignment.
  • Drive savings through cost reduction, business efficiency and compliance throughout the operations.
  • Market intelligence analysis, with full understanding of market sector conditions and contractor/supplier landscape.
  • Measure, monitor and drive compliance to preferred supplier program.
  • Summarise and communicate the value of strategic sourcing to stakeholders, including but not limited to administration, supply, schedule, and cost benefits.

Qualifications:

  • Procurement, commercial or business qualification.
  • Overall experience of 7 years in procurement of above mentioned Item categories.
  • Demonstrable experience in Procurement and Category Management.
  • Sound understanding of commercial supply contracts.
  • Proven ability in managing multivendor, direct and indirect supplier relationships.
  • Familiarity with Oracle software and desktop sourcing tools.
  • Proven Business engagement capabilities at all levels of a matrix style organization.
  • MCIPS highly regarded.
