Role Overview:

  • The Service Leader works in close partnership with the Clinical Manager to provide leadership, practice development and mentoring to a team of Mental Health Support Workers
  • This position provides instructions, guidance support and actively works with the team to improve identified skill areas
  • To support administrative functions of the Clinical Manager
  • The Service Leader monitors and reviews the systems and processes to support continuous quality improvement

Requirements:

  • Minimum of Cert IV in Mental Health, Community Services or other related discipline (ideally a completed Diploma or Bachelors)
  • Experience and skills in working with people experiencing mental illness and/or disability
  • Ability to think and act calmly and deal sensitively with distressed people
  • Demonstrate effective listening, communication skills, empathy; and the capacity to relate with others with dignity and respect
  • Ability to help program participants link in with other relevant community resources and to promote the rights, responsibilities and recovery of program participants
  • Ability to implement and facilitate planned activities resulting in greater community access and support
  • Demonstrated communication, problem solving and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in use of computer and Microsoft office
  • Demonstrated ability to work with families, carers, government agencies and community services
  • Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a Blue Card
  • Current driver's license
