About the role


An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably experienced and qualified individual to take on an intake & assessment and active hold worker role within the Brimbank Melton Area team.

This role will be responsible for triaging new referrals, data entry, conducting assertive outreach for hard-to-reach participant for the purpose of obtaining consent to engage in the program, providing phone-based support to parents/carers of disengaged learners, and developing/maintaining relationships with schools and other stakeholders.

This role is part-time 0.8 FTE.

The Navigator Brimbank Melton team is based in Sunshine.

  • Demonstrated skills and experience in shortterm (predominately phonebased) case management or case coordination.
  • An understanding of adolescent development and the factors that can contribute to a young person's disengagement from learning.
  • High degree of cultural competency and understanding of culturally appropriate service delivery in relation to Aboriginal young people, their families and communities and CALD young people, their families and communities.
  • Knowledge of services and supports available in the Brimbank Melton area.
  • Capacity to fulfil reporting and administrative requirements associated with the position.
  • Understanding and sympathy with the mission and ethos of Jesuit Social Services.
  • Current driver's licence.
  • Valid Working with Children Check card.
  • Successful Police Check to be conducted by Jesuit Social Services prior to commencement.
