WSP Property and Buildings Structures group have a role for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our growing team in Canberra.

Our Property and Buildings team is a world-leading management and technical consultancy operating across all sectors. What you'll do

As a Senior Structural Engineer you will:

  • Project lead work across the design, delivery and tender phases for multi-year/packaged work for turnkey projects;
  • Ensure timely and quality of delivery for project and structural engineering work in support of relevant technical, commercial and regulatory standards – and in alignment with schedules and budgets;
  • Handle ongoing communication and highly effective professional relationships with local clients;
  • Manage effective stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally;
  • Provide sound technical/delivery guidance for the team;
  • Mentor, train and develop the careers of junior engineers;
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and a collaborative, national team in a multidisciplinary engineering setting.

About you

The successful candidate we are looking for will have:

  • Typically 6+ years' experience on medium/large Australian building structures engineering projects, e.g. commercial, retail, defence, health and education;
  • Capacity to manage small-to-medium scale projects autonomously and deliver large-scale projects as part of a team;
  • Excellent steel and post-tensioned (PT) design and inspections skills;
  • Moderate-to-high level of proficiency with such as RAM and RAPT as key engineering software packages;
  • Track record of collaborating effectively with other engineering disciplines on projects;
  • Well versed in liaising effectively with external stakeholders;
  • Understanding of BIM, NavisWorks and Revit Structure would be beneficial, but not essential.
